Controls Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and configure controls systems, including PLCs to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and to develop innovative solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develop control strategies and algorithms to ensure efficient and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to integrate their systems into the overall control architecture.
  • Project management of equipment installations, facility rearrangement, energy savings projects and safety improvements.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure adherence to design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams for effective utilization of control systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience, Competencies and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in controls and automation engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems and automation technologies.
  • Experience with designing and implementing control strategies and algorithms for complex manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in control systems, such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Exposure to fast paced manufacturing areas, requiring PPE.
